The following are frequently asked questions regarding the Shaw Avenue Elementary School PTA. If you have a question that is not answered here, please contact us at [email protected] and we'll be glad to get back to you.
How much is the Membership?
The membership dues are $10 for adults, $8 for children, and $25 for businesses.
When does the Shaw Avenue Elementary School PTA meet?
The PTA meets most months on a morning or evening. In order to accommodate parents and schedules we will have hybrid meetings (both in person and on-line) for most meetings. Please check the events calendar on our website to see the dates we are meeting each month.
If I join the PTA, am I OBLIGATED to attend PTA meetings or COMMIT to a PTA volunteer schedule?
No you are not. Though we would like to see you at the meetings and have you volunteer some time, we understand that it is not always possible. Your dues alone are a big help.
Who can join the PTA?
Any adult is eligible to join including: parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, friends, and neighbors AND Businesses (We love and appreciate our members and sponsors). You can click below:

I joined last year, am I still a member?
No. Dues are renewed annually and expire each September 30th.
What does the PTA do?
The PTA provides funds and manpower to help make our school the best that it can be. The funds underwrite assemblies, events, teacher support, etc. PTA volunteers plan and staff a wider range of events as listed on the school calendars.
